Nillumbik Shire Council, VIC - Homewise Kit

Nillumbik Shire Council in Victoria won the inaugural National Planning for an Ageing Community award - for its Homewise Kit. The kit, part of Nillumbik's older persons health promotion program: Ageing in your home project, provides a range of helpful hints and considerations for builders and residents to make their home design more age-friendly and enhance the ability of older people to live independently, in their place of choice, for longer.

Warringah Council, NSW - Special Relationships Exhibition

Warringah Council, located in northern Sydney, has developed the Special Relationships Exhibition. This project follows a competition council held inviting grandchildren and grandparents to send in comments about their relationship with each other. In addition to the exhibition being available online, council also held a public exhibition of competition entries at its Civic Centre. The exhibition is a good example of how local government can build strong intergeneration links and create positive images of ageing.
