Austroads
Austroads is the association of Australian and New Zealand road transport and traffic authorities.
ALGA is a member of Austroads and has a formal partnership agreement and associated action plan with Austroads and the Institute of Public Works Engineers. ALGA is also on the board of the ARRB Group Ltd, a transport research organisation largely funded by Austroads.
Both the Austroads website and ARRB website have special local government sections.
Local government also provides representatives on a wide range of Austroads committees, to ensure local government concerns and ideas are covered in relevant Austroads projects and publications.
An Austroads initiative of particular value to councils is free downloading of Austroads electronic publications. Councils can register for this free service through the Austroads website.
